Meet Dr. Elke Cooke

Dr. Elke Cooke

Elke Cooke, M.D.Dr. Elke Cooke realized early on in her life that there was personal power in understanding how the body operates. She came to see what a difference a physician could make in a person’s quality of life, helping others remove pain and fatigue, and in turn adding health and vitality. This awareness led her to acquire a medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She completed her Residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan and became Board Certified in 2007. Dr. Cooke became specially trained in Medical Esthetics and spent time thriving as an Emergency Physician at Kaiser Permanente in California.

After having worked in conventional medicine for some time, she came to feel that healing was more than just prescribing a certain medication. Watching her patients consume a long list of remedies but never quite feeling truly better, and some actually getting worse because of all the side effects, was the trigger that opened her eyes to the possibilities available in functional medicine. In addition, being a witness to her own experience with stress and how it affected her body, vitality, and mind, she was able to learn that the path to honestly feeling well required addressing the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.

Becoming a member of the BodyLogicMD network and specifically trained in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, allowed Dr. Cooke to utilize tests that are at the leading edge of functional medicine while also incorporating the best tools from traditional medicine. As part of the team at Infinity Health and Rejuvenation Center, she does not look at a test result number but rather the patient as a whole, searching for underlying triggers that might contribute to illness. This allows her to tailor treatments to the specific needs of the individual. Utilizing interventions such as nutritional changes, bioidentical hormones, supplements, lifestyle and environmental changes, Dr. Cooke seeks to restore balance rather than treating a symptom or number.

Once Dr. Cooke steps away from the office, she enjoys connecting with nature whether that is going for a walk with her children and husband or exploring new trails in the California Mountains. An avid mountain biker and runner she was also previously an aerobics instructor. One of her real joys is getting in the kitchen and cooking healthy meals for her family from scratch.

Dr. Elke Cooke strives to practice medicine that incorporates the leading tools and technologies of science. Staying health and patient focused rather than disease focused, she incorporates the knowledge that personal choices in diet and nutrition are vital to keeping chronic disease at bay.

Dr. Cooke has great success with optimizing health in her patients, as exemplified by patient testimonials.
